Case Sugan 2011 Pinot Grigio Friuli Grave Doc

Pinot Grigios on many wine by the glass lists generally tend to be less than memorable. This
fresh, full-bodied Pinot Grigio from Friuli and part of the San Simone portfolio, it is one of the nicest tasted in some time and takes its name from Sugano in Porcia, Italy where the vines are located. Drinkable now and fresh and young, it can be held up to three years. Fruit flavors of apple, apricot and pear come through as it matures, along with some nutty notes.The wine is sustainably produced High in acidity, the wine is clean and delicious. Serve with Pappardelle in mushroom sauce or rice with vegetables and ginger-scented shrimp, say the vintners. The wine is 13% alcohol by volume. Suggested retail price is around $20.
