Wine of the Week – Iama, Malagouza-Assyrtiko 2012

Summer is the season for crisp and fruity white wines and this offering from vineyards in Evia Island, Greece is a perfect example of wines that deliver. Iama stands for something that fosters good health and metaphorically, something special.
The winery, Vrinoti Wines, is home to dry soil rich in volcanic ash. The business was founded in 2002 on family lands where the old stone wine press was incorporated into a new facility built in ’07 and completed in 2008. The goal of the 45 acre vineyard is low yields and quality wines.
This offering in pale golden-yellow with white fruit flavors and flowery aromas. Raise a glass and toast the summer!
