Paulaner, a major German brewer, opened its very first U.S. Paulaner Bar at T.D. Garden North Station in Boston this Fall, bringing brewing traditions that date centuries to when the monks would drink the beers as a substitute for food during Lent. The new bar is full service and offers five styles of Paulaner’s draft biers – Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Paulaner Oktoberfest, Paulaner Pils, Paulaner Munich Lager, PaulanerSalvator – as well as three from Munich’s Hacker-Pschorr Brewery including, Hacker-Pschorr Weisse, Hacker-Pschorr Weisse Dark and Hacker-Pschorr Munich Gold. The menu complements the brews, and offers freshly made soups, salads, sandwiches, pretzels and chips.
Try the PaulanerSalvator Double Bock, bottom-fermented and brewed the same way since the 18th century. Rich with hops and dark barley malt, the brew has a deep copper hue and is 7.9 percent alcohol by volume.
