What’s Brewin’

Caitlin Jewell and Jeff Leiter of Slumbrew in Somerville, MA have a mission – to bring craft beer in all its artisanal excellence to a larger market of beer drinkers. Only 6.5 percent of U.S. beer sales represent the growing craft beer movement – a tiny number but one we expect to continue to expand as more people discover the excellent beers now being produced in many corners of the Northeast today.
Sip Slumbrew’s outstanding Porter Square Porter – rich, dark, and redolent of Taza Chocolate’s cocoa powder, along with cocoa nibs, pale malts, oats, wheat and barley – received a “Best Porter” award from Boston Magazine. The ABV is 6.5 percent.
The Porter, and Slumbrew’s other beers, are available here in the Northeast in MA, ME, VT and NJ. If you are in search of hearty, complex brews that bring beer to new levels, this needs to be on your bar and at the table. How many delicious dishes can you pair this Porter with?
