Berkshire Brewing Company in South Deerfield, MA, created by two friends who wanted to brew clean, fresh local ales and lagers, came up with this coffee- infused brew, a Porter infused with Dean’s Bean coffee. It offers notes of fresh roast coffee and chocolate. We tried it at Boston’s The Brewer’s Fork recently and liked it a lot.
The brewery can produce 580 barrels of fresh beer a week, unfiltered and unpasteurized. They do nine styles a year along with seven seasonal offerings.
This rich, dark ale, Porter style, was created by taking Berkshire Brewing’s Draymen’s Porter and adding the organic coffee for a robust, aromatic result. The brewers will tell you that you get both the beginning and end of the day in one brew! Celebrating their 20th anniversary, we applaud their creativity.
The Porter comes in 22 oz. bottles an is available on nitro draft as well, and is 6.2 percent ABV.
