Rich and subtle, this Rhone estate has received consistent critical praise for its outstanding terroir and winemaking consistency. The 100 percent Syrah wine is elegant and the wine is said to be one of the most highly rated Cote-Roties based on critics’ scores. It’s won numerous awards. Domaine Jamet is a “titan” in the region, farming 17 acres in 20 parcels. The winemakers vinify each parcel separately. Grapes from higher slopes which receive a lot of wind and have more acidity are balanced with those from middle slopes which get more sun, ripening faster. Subtle and well-made, the wine retails for around $120 in the U.S. It’s a perfect example of why the Rhone Valley is one of the most important wine regions in the country. Native to the Rhone Valley, Syrah is the only red grape permitted in northern Rhone appellations. We loved the flavorful, elegant red and applaud Wines of the Rhone Valley!
