NEW YORK – The Food Shows Family of Events, Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum and Kathleen Wood will partner in a seminar series, the Foodservice Council for Women, during three restaurant and foodservice events produced by Urban Expositions, starting with the 5th anniversary of collaboration at the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York, March 6-8 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center here.
The Forum begins Sunday morning with a session, Women Writing in Business, at which Chloe Coscarelli, chef and partner at by CHLOE; Samantha Wasser, creative director, ESquared Hospitality & by CHLOE; Joan Axelrod Siegelwax, executive vice president, Love & Quiches Gourmet; Melissa Fleischut, president of the New York State Restaurant Association and Isabela Wojcik, director of House Programming for James Beard Foundation will join Kathleen Wood of Kathleen Wood Partners to discuss what it takes to succeed in the foodservice industry today.
The event has been a “highlight of our events for the past five years and we welcome our attendees to join us as well celebrate this progressive group of women,” says Ron Mathews, vice president, Urban Expositions’ Restaurant and Foodservice Events Portfolio. “During the three-day education program, attendees will also learn how to produce winning teams, achieve operational excellence, improve leadership, stay on top of hot trends, increase business loyalty, manage catering, boost customer experience, maximize profits, minimize risks, and create the optimal customer experience.”
In addition, the session includes presentation of the Beacon Award to Chef Sara Moulton, a TV host, author and educator, who will be recognized for advancing the path for women throughout her 30-year career. The event takes place Monday, March 7, at noon, followed by a demo of a dish featuring local New York ingredients and also, a book signing. The first 100 attendees receive a copy of Moulton’s new book.
Additional sessions in The Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum will focus on Driving Sales and Reducing Costs, Catering, Winning Teams, Management, Menu, Operations, Hot Trends, and Customer Experience. Session topics include a debate debate on changes tipping featuring Chefs Marc Murphy and Amanda Cohen in addition to such programs as “So You Want to Have Your Own Cooking Show,” “How to Resonate with Millennials,” “Tips for Selling or Buying a Restaurant,” “Accommodating Customer on Special Diets,” and more.
