Ouled Thaleb Medaillon 2012
We are big fans of the wines of Morocco and this lovely red is no exception. It’s grown in the Zenata region between mountains and breezes from the Atlantic Ocean. Ouled Thaleb’s history dates back to 1923.
Medaillon is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Syrah, aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. The vines are located AOG Zenata in Rabat/Casablanca.
Despite a heavily Muslim population, wineries have been flourishing in Morocco. At Ouled Thaleb, the grapes are grown organically with no pesticides or fungicides. The resulting wine offers notes of black cherry, cassis, plum, and black currant and is peppery and rich with soft tannins, perfect for a cold winter evening at dinner or by itself.
Scored at 93 points by Wine Enthusiast, Medaillon is imported by Nomadic Distribution.
