Johnny Carino’s Italian files second bankruptcy
AUSTIN, TX – The owner of Johnny Carino’s Italian, Fired Up Inc., filed for its second bankruptcy since 2013, according to Nation’s Restaurant News. It currently has 84 units, franchised and company owned, down from 173 in 2006. The company is said to be seeking a buyer.
Northeast Organic Farming Assn. (NOFA) holds conference
AMHERST, MA – The Northeast Organic Farming Assn.’s 42nd annual Summer Conference takes place here at University of Massachusetts Amherst Aug. 12-14. 1,000 participants will explore such challenges as climate change, racial inequity and more. Leah Penniman of Soul Fire Farm and André Leu of the International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements (IFOAM) are the keynote speakers. Knowledgeable presenters will offer workshops on a variety of topics in eight 90-minute sessions. Before the conference begins, five half and full day intensive seminars will take place on grazing, homesteading, season extension, digestive wellness and regenerative agriculture.
