Wine of the Week: Troublemaker, Blend 6 – true to its California roots

Hand crafted from multiple varietals, Troublemaker, Blend 6, a label of Hope Family Wines, was inspired by the varieties that flourish in Paso Robles and the Central Coast, offering a blend of Syrah, 54%) Grenache 22%), Mourvedre (13%) and Zinfandel(11%). Winemaker Austin Hope offers a young but complex vintage that’s fruit-forward, rich in flavor, with a great nose and long finish. Think aromas of violets, vanilla, smoke and red fruits. It is 14.5% ABV and despite a name that suggests frivolity, is a truly serious offering, well crafted and worthy of serious wine drinkers. The name may evoke chuckles but a few sips will produce a knowing smile. Go to www.hopefamilywines.com
