Wine of the Week – Castello Del Poggio Moscato

Traditionally, we often think of white wines as crisp and dry. This lovely wine, Castello Del Poggio Moscato Veneto, does not fit that mold. A sweet white wine from Italy, its makers describe it as the product of what they call a “lighthearted way of life.” A delicate Moscato, it offers a “boquet” of musk, peach, honey and white flowers.

They suggest pairing it with barbecue or other spicy dishes, pastas, salads and “guilt-free desserts” along with, they add, “a candid smile” as you sip and declare: “Hello Sweet Life”!

We enjoyed it as an after dinner beverage in lieu, perhaps, of dessert, but look forward to exploring other pairings. It’s imported by Zonin USA Inc. in Charlottesville, VA.
