Kentucky whiskey maker wins 2 medals

Bardstown, KY – Two of Barton 1792 Distillery’s whiskies received medals at the 2020 American World Whiskies Awards presented by Whisky Magazine.

1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey received a Gold Medal and 1792 Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey won a Bronze Medal at the awards event in New York.

“We are very thankful to receive these recognitions,” Master Distiller Danny Kahn says. “Producing top-quality whiskey is truly a team effort and everyone at Barton 1792 is dedicated to accomplishing that goal. These awards are another indication of that commitment.”

Whiskies in each category were subject to blind tastings in a three-round judging process to reward and promote the world’s best whiskies to consumers and trade across the globe.  The winners from the American World Whiskies Awards 2020 will now compete with counterparts from all over the world, and global winners will be announced March 26 in London. The purveyor is part of Barton Brands  which has facilities in Bardstown, Ky., Carson, Calif., and Baltimore, Md.  FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Los Angeles International Spirits competition presented five A. Smith Bowman Gold Medals and one, John J. Bowman Single Barrel Straight Virginia Bourbon, took home a Silver Medal.

The Spirit(s) World – 6 Bourbons win medals

BARDSTOWN, KY  -At the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition six bourbons from Barton 1792 Distillery have earned Gold Medals, and one was named “Best of Category.”

Those Gold winners include:

  • 1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1792 Full Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – also named “Best of Category” in the Bourbon-Overproof Category with 92 points

Ultimate Spirits Challenge® names 2015 winners

Hawthorne, NY – Ultimate Spirits Challenge®, said to be the world’s platinum standard for spirits competitions, announces the winners and full results for the 2015 Challenge. Now in its sixth year, it celebrates 33 Chairman Trophy winners, the highest award, along with 162 Finalists and the Tried & True Awards and Great Values. The Challenge, which grew by 14% from 2014, was held in its specially designed evaluation center in Hawthorne, NY.

“For 2015 we have moved Ultimate Spirits Challenge into our new state-of-the-art evaluation center and also moved to a new rolling judging schedule,” says USC founder F. Paul Pacult. “We broke up the Challenges into smaller categories so we are able to give each grouping of spirits greater in-depth attention, with the inclusion of cocktail evaluations. All our judges agree that this hyper-focus allows USC to provide the most trusted and sought after testimonials that help companies build their brands.”

New for 2015 — cocktail evaluation for suitable spirits categories has been added and results will be released in April.

USC results are promoted globally via email and web publication to both trade buyers and consumers. In addition, high scoring products are featured in the Ultimate Beverage Challenge Guide published each year in the October issue of Beverage Media reaching more than 70,000 on- and off-premise spirits buyers.
